Who We Are

Our Mission

The Meeker Area Partners in Prevention (MAPP) is a group of parents, teachers, businesses, law enforcement agencies, government officials, and concerned citizens working together to reduce the use and abuse of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs in our area. Our vision is to create a community where youth can grow up free of substance abuse.

In recent years, MAPP received a Planning & Implementation grant from the State of MN Department of Human Services Alcohol and Drug Abuse Division. With these grant dollars we narrowed the focus of our efforts on reducing underage alcohol use in the Litchfield School District. See what we’ve been doing in Litchfield in recent years to make a difference. We are always seeking additional funding sources to continue this very important work. (If your organization is interested in donating to MAPP, please contact us.)

There are three Environmental strategies which research has proven to be effective in the prevention of underage drinking:

  1. Reducing access and availability.
  2. Enforcement of existing laws and policies.
  3. Changing public attitudes and social norms.
